TOBY Awards

BOMA San Diego hosts an annual awards competition to recognize excellence in the commercial building management industry. The Outstanding Building Of The Year (TOBY) competition is held in conjunction with BOMA International. Winners of the local San Diego competition advance to the regional competition and finally advance to the international competition.

The prestigious TOBY Award is bestowed as the highest mark of excellence for building management and is the most all-inclusive program in the commercial real estate industry. All facets of a building's operations are thoroughly evaluated during the judging process by a panel comprised of industry professionals, including architects and commercial building managers.

250,000-499,999 Square Feet
500,000-999,999 Square Feet
Over One Million Square Feet
Renovated Building
Historical Building
Mixed-Use Building
Corporate Facility
Medical Office Building
Earth Award
Industrial
Suburban Office Park-Low Rise (1-5 stories)
Suburban Office Park-Mid Rise (6-10 stories)

2023-2024 Local TOBY Competition Requirements & Deadlines

BOMA 360 designation is required. Applications must be submitted by July 31, 2023.
TOBY Application due September 29, 2023 at Noon
TOBY Tours October 9-13
TOBY Awards presented at the Annual BOMA TOBY & Membership Awards Gala on November 11, 2023

Fees

BOMA 360 Designation: $850
Local TOBY Entry: No fee
Regional Awards: $450 (subject to change and due at time of Regional Awards submission)
