Programs

BOMA San Diego not only offers advocacy, education and networking opportunities, but also membership involvement in a number of valued programs such as: TOBY Awards, Jack Moshgat Scholarship, Membership Scholarship, Membership Awards and BOMA 360.

The TOBY Awards

BOMA San Diego hosts an annual awards competition to recognize excellence in the commercial building management industry. The Outstanding Building Of The Year (TOBY) competition is held in conjunction with BOMA International. Winners of the local San Diego competition advance to regional, state and national competitions.

Jack Moshgat Scholarship

Each year, two scholarships are awarded to deserving individuals in honor of Jack Moshgat, a BOMA past president who passed away many years ago. The purpose of the Jack Moshgat Scholarship is to recognize a deserving person's desire to pursue and expand a career in commercial real estate.

Membership Scholarship

This scholarship in intended to encourage potential Principal Members whose companies no longer pay for their BOMA memberships to become active members of BOMA.

Membership Awards

Membership Awards are presented at the annual BOMA Winter Gala and designed to recognize the contributions of outstanding volunteers.

BOMA 360

The BOMA 360 Performance Program, sponsored by BOMA International, evaluates buildings against industry best practices in 6 major areas: building operations and management; life safety, security and risk management; training and education; energy; environmental/sustainability; and tenant relations/community involvement.  Individual buildings that satisfy the requirements in all 6 areas are awarded the BOMA 360 designation.Commercial properties are built on a foundation of data. But if you're only looking at the numbers from your own building, you're not getting the whole story. Without context, these facts and figures—rental rates, expenses, occupancy rates—don’t tell you much about how well your building is operating or how successful it is in comparison to its competition.
