Section: New Member Spotlight

Andrew Areces is originally from Miami, Florida. He left Miami back in July 2019 and moved to downtown San Diego, where he lives with his wife. Andrew works for BOMA Platinum Supporting Partner RSI Roofing as a project manager.  His responsibilities include inspecting roofs, offering recommendations and selling roofing services.  Read below to learn more about him:

BOMA San Diego: Have you always been in the roofing business? If not, what industry did you start your career in?
Andrew:  I have been in the roofing industry for five years. It is a great industry! Before roofing, I worked for ADP selling HR and Business Compliant Services to small businesses. I also worked in the dry cleaning industry for three years.

BOMA San Diego: What are your top three goals for joining BOMA San Diego?
Andrew: My top three goals would be: finding a new community to grow and thrive with, promoting healthy partnerships and further developing my professional skills.

BOMA San Diego:  What committees have you joined, or are interested in joining?
Andrew:  I have joined the Community Service Committee.

BOMA San Diego: What are your three best personality qualities?
Andrew:  Well, most of the time I am easy going and I would also say I am a good team player. And honestly, I can’t think of a third one at the moment.

BOMA San Diego: We have many foodies in BOMA San Diego. Rumor has it you love food too!  What is your favorite quarantine meal to cook up?
Andrew:  Burgers! I love to barbecue.

BOMA San Diego: Are you into books, podcasts, music, movies or television? Any recommendations?
Andrew:  Books: The most recent book to arrive at our door is, “Sh*t My Dad Says” by Justin Halpern. Proceed with caution! So far, I am loving it.
Television: On Netflix, Ben Platt has a great performance from the Radio City Music Hall.
Music: John Legend’s new album “Bigger Love” is an easy listen. And, there is always classic rock… you can’t go wrong with classic rock.

Welcome aboard, Andrew!
