Pete is a project manager and estimator at General Coatings, which specializes in commercial painting, multi-tenant properties, epoxy and urethane floor/deck coatings and decorative concrete overlays. His primary duties revolve around assisting clients in ensuring that their painting projects are completed on time and on budget through estimating and project management.

Pete attributes his climb up the employment ladder to painting houses while attending college, which led him to establishing his own painting business in San Diego! From there, Pete went to work for a mid-sized commercial painting company and while working in the field, he learned all of the phases of painting. From there, he transitioned to a smaller painting company where he estimated and conducted project management for commercial and government project, which ultimately landed him his current job at General Coatings where he is involved in many commercial projects here in San Diego.

Pete volunteers his time at The Bread of Life in Oceanside, California where he organizes groups to prepare and serve food for over 100 families per month. He lists his proudest accomplishment in life as having a great family, and his proudest moment in the workforce as estimating, managing, and completing a 22-story exterior high rise here in San Diego!

Born in Albany, New York, Pete made California home years ago when he attend Pacific Palisades High School, followed by Santa Monica College and the University of California, Los Angeles. Pete has called San Diego home for going on 30 years. His friends describe him as positive, kind and a family-man, and he loves to cook, and especially smoking a “mean Brisket and anything that moves”.

Pete lists his wife, Susan McDevitt, as his best friend, and enjoys time relaxing and playing golf with his sons, Matthew and Ryan, during family vacation in Palm Springs.
