We are excited to introduce one of our newest BOMA members, Seira Melendez. She is an Assistant Property Manager with the amazing team at IDS Real Estate Group. Along with pursuing a passionate career, she is a mom of three kiddos and always on the move building memories and supporting her family. 

Please welcome Seira and Read our Q&A with her to learn more.

BOMA San Diego: What is your role/responsibility at IDS Real Estate Group?
My current role is an Assistant Property Manager at IDS Real Estate Group. Additionally, some of my responsibilities consist of the following:
  • Obtaining aging report on behalf of Property Manager and follow up on all delinquencies, utilizing client-directed policies.
  • Prepare lease abstracts, monthly rent roll, stacking plan for Property Manager review.
  • Responsible for aspects of annual budgets preparation, CAM reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
  • Also, I tend to be very flexible so on occasion I am moved to assist team members that require extra help while keeping my current properties.

BOMA San Diego: What type of buildings do you manage? 
Industrial in Tolleson, AZ; Auburn, CA; Oceanside, CA; & Miramar, CA.

BOMA San Diego: Tell us about your family & pets! 
My family consists of my husband and my three daughters. Since my life is already too hectic, we do not have pets.

BOMA San Diego: What was your first role in commercial real estate and what ultimately got you interested in this field?
My first role in commercial real estate was a Real Estate Administrator with CBRE and Kathy Sullivan. She definitely influenced my career. Property Management will never be boring, and because of that, I was drawn to it immediately. You never know what issues may rise.

BOMA San Diego: What are your top three goals for joining BOMA San Diego?  
Build my support community, and increase my general skills, knowledge, and abilities.

BOMA San Diego: What committees have you joined or are interested in joining?
Currently, I have joined the Events Committee, and plan to join one more, but unsure of what is out there at the moment.

BOMA San Diego: What is your favorite part of the workday?  
Tenant and Vendor interaction. I thrive on helping or being resourceful to fellow colleagues or tenants.

BOMA San Diego: What is a hobby you do outside of work? 
I love spending time with my family and creating new and fun memories with my children. This also consists of being involved in their school, soccer practices/games, and anything they are interested in in that given moment. I love being a mother, and a working professional. Having balance is definitely needed and enjoyed to the fullest.
