Irrigation
With Governor Brown declaring California in a drought, Pacific Green Landscape wants your landscape to continue receiving the right amount of water to thrive without wasting one of our state’s most precious resources.
 
That’s why it is especially important to check your irrigation system now – before spring to verify water coverage is appropriate, look for broken heads and check for pipe leaks. At Pacific Green Landscape, Inc., we continually check irrigation systems and maintain regular upkeep year round.  Also, we are experts in system repairs, restoration and installation-if you decide that your current system does not meet your needs. We stay current and up to date on all the state-of-the-art, water saving technology available. Turf
Your residents love a well manicured lawn.  To ensure a vigorous turf, Pacific Green Landscape recommends three important tasks before spring …
 
Apply Pre-emergent Herbicides –
Pacific Green Landscape applies pre-emergent herbicides to turf now.   This will suppress the weeds so they don’t “pop” in spring and helps to maintain a relatively weed free lawn for the months ahead.  This application really helps with the targeted control of Crabgrass too!  Crabgrass infestations can really detract from your turf areas appeal and health.
 
Fertilize-
Right now is a good time to fertilize your lawn.  However, depending on the type of turf, some fertilizers work better than others.  Pacific Green Landscape has the knowledge and experience to know which fertilizer works best for your type of turf.
 
Aerate-
Before spring is a great time for aeration. Pacific Green Landscape reccomends to have your lawn aerated at least once a year.  In heavy use turf, it may be advisable to aerate several times throughout the year.   Aeration is an important step in maintaining a beautiful, healthy lawn.  It helps the turf absorb water better, gets oxygen in the soil and gives the roots a chance to breath.

Pruning
Depending on the type of plant material you have on your property, now may be a good time to prune.  Pruning can be a very useful method that allows for plant rejuvenation. At Pacific Green Landscape we manage and train our crews to landscape with horticultural fundamentals, which is key to long term plant vigor.   By showing our crews the proper way to trim plant material, it results in a better bloom, shape and health of the plant. However, there are many plants that do not need pruning or can go through the “natural” pruning cycle.  With natural pruning you let the bloom cycles go and enjoy the plants natural beauty.  Talk to Pacific Green Landscape about a pruning schedule or which plants have a natural pruning cycle.
