Cali has met so many amazing people through BOMA SD who have mentored and supported her. Her biggest supporters and mentor have been Melanie Milinkevich [BOMA President], Her family and her husband. Melanie encouraged Cali and gave her the confidence to take on new challenges to be part of the Board and mentored her into the Executive Board as current Treasurer for 2025. Cali also has an extremely supportive family and husband, who continue to uplift and cheer her on.
Cali’s biggest Success and accomplishment was being accepted into the Executive Board for BOMA SD and also completing her RPA while working a fulltime job!
Her memorable experience; Hands down the best experience with BOMA has been the friendships. Cali has been fortunate with the friends she has made through BOMA SD and believes they are going to be in her life forever. Cali believes that having friends who are in this industry to share experiences with, laugh through the hard things, and most importantly who know and can understand how challenging this job can be sometimes! BOMA SD has been an incredible support and experience.
What would I tell your younger self: “If I had that opportunity…man, so many things. Probably just not stress over things not worth stressing over. There’s a difference between caring and caring too much, and knowing the balance is key! I would probably also tell my younger self that one day, I’ll look back and wish I had more experiences in my life, so to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and explore and go places and meet new people. I’ve done more of that in my 30s then I ever did in my 20s! Lastly…. I would say, if I’m ever in doubt…. just get the dog”
How have relationships fostered your knowledge and growth: Cali believes that she would not be where she is had it not been for the friends and professional relationships she has gained. She has an amazing network of people who she can call at any time, whether it’s personal or a work emergency. She believes that if she doesn’t have an answer to a question, someone is more than willing to assist. She has felt supported in her career growth and developed into a more well-rounded property manager.
“My RPA courses alone taught me so much about every aspect of property management, but the shared experiences amongst all of my BOMA San Diego friends have proven to be the best resource of all. It’s been amazing having such a great network of people where everyone is so willing to support others whenever and however, they can.”
