Ray Magnussen: A Champion and Protector of the Commercial Real Estate Industry
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Ray Magnussen has passed away.
Dear BOMA San Diego Members and Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Ray Magnussen has passed away.
A champion and protector of the commercial real estate industry, Ray played a pivotal role in BOMA for more than 20 years.
After many years volunteering in the trenches, he was elected to the Board of Directors in 2003 and 2004 serving two terms as a Member-at-Large. He was then elected to serve two terms as Vice President in 2005 and 2006. In 2007, he was elected as President and was the first Associate Member to serve our organization in the role.
Beyond San Diego, Ray shared his talents statewide and served as President of the BOMA CAL Board of Directors in 2011. Once again, he was the first Associate Member to hold that role. He was also awarded the California Business Properties Association's Ernie Hahn award for his activities supporting property rights legislation on behalf of BOMA CAL.
His leadership, mentorship and insight took BOMA to a new level. He was a wonderful friend and inspiration to all.
Our thoughts are with his family, including his wife Patty, daughter Kris and our current Vice President Tom Magnussen, at this time.
We will share news of his Celebration of Life as details are available and pending the family's wishes.
Cheers Ray, you will be greatly missed.
