There was plenty of fun in the sun at the Annual BOMA San Diego Golf Tournament this year, held at Omni Resorts La Costa on the Champions Course. Over 120 golfers teamed up in foursomes to tackle the course, including a pack of unicorns headed by Katie Blizzard from Four Seasons Tree Care and Steph Kozlowski from Automated Controls, Inc.  Another noticeable cart cruising around was operated by Barry Garson with J&M Keystone Restoration who decked out his ride with stars and stripes, thoroughly displaying American patriotism in addition to cooling off golfers with super soakers.

Many people left the tournament victorious; taking home a prize from the raffle that had about 20 donations ranging from ways to beat the heat to a variety of gift cards to, as well as mass amounts of tequila, several baseball tickets and golf paraphernalia. Eddie Pritts with Pestgon organized the best booth by helping participants loosen up from all those golf swings with a much-needed massage and the best comfort food around, mac-n-cheese.

This year’s theme was “crazy socks” and Rhonda Vicker with Meissner Jacquet scored a basket of full of them by sporting purple My Little Pony socks.

Other notable winners were:
  • Teresa Henning: Long Drive-Women #2
  • Clint Burley: Closest to the Pin-Men #3
  • Beth Pires: Closest to the Pin-Women #16
  • Lance Granville: Longest Drive-Men #18
A big congratulations to our overall 1st place team—Dan Hutchins, Steve Brink, Wes Porter, and Chris De Marco— that beat out 2nd place by one point with a score of 58. Amber Molina, Cody Zindrowski, Lance Granville and Lisa Lasho secured second with a score of 59. Our 3rd place team consisting of Joseph Schmidt, Devin Samaha, Travis Gorzeman, and Eduardo Moehlecke golfed a 60.

Lastly, a special thank you to Ron Lovell and all at Helix Mechanical for being this year’s premier title sponsor.  The Dowling Construction girls had the privilege of taking the first picture in the photo booth with Ron Lovell— extremely fitting to kick off the start of the tournament!

Can’t wait to see what next year’s tournament has in store, but we can all expect it to be another hole in one.
