Section: President's Message

Although we are facing an unconventional moment in time, please rest assured that BOMA San Diego remains committed to its members and advancing the interests of the commercial real estate industry. If you have not done so already, I highly encourage you to visit the BOMA San Diego COVID-19 Resource Center page for up to date information. You will find links to our past webinars on COVID-19 topics, local and state resources, and resources from BOMA International. This information is incredibly useful, and I have used the site as a reference several times over the course of the last few months.

On the government affairs and advocacy front, we continue to meet with elected officials, as well as keep our membership apprised on everything from local and state mandates, eviction moratoriums and proposed measures related to commercial real estate. We have updated our government affairs priorities and invite you to visit the local priorities section on our BOMA website here.

Our committees and BOMA front office remain hard at work bringing quality programming, value, and education. I have seen their hard work firsthand and assure you that the quality of programming is at the highest level it has ever been. Please do not let the virtual platform discourage you. In fact, I invite you to participate in one of our next events! Check out the upcoming events list online here.

We could not be prouder of the incredible work our members continue to do day-in and day-out to keep the BOMA mission alive and well. Our community service committee exceeded fundraising goals this year and raised almost $20K for the back to school drive benefitting Promises 2Kids.  And thanks to the efforts of our Sustainability & Emergency Preparedness Committee, we helped save 147 lives during BOMA San Diego’s annual blood drive. On behalf of myself, and our board of directors, we thank you immensely. Also, a big debt of gratitude goes to our annual supporting sponsors for making all our events possible.

Please visit our annual supporting sponsor directory and keep them in mind when going out to bid for services. The BOMA nominations committee conducted the annual interviews for the Board of Directors, and we will announce the slate of officers for the 2021 Board of Directors very soon. Please be sure to attend the December membership meeting for the annual financial report and the official Board of Directors vote.

While we can only see each other virtually at this point, please know that it brings me great joy when I see all your faces attending these virtual BOMA events. I thank you tremendously for continuing to stay connected. Please continue to take care of yourselves, wear a mask in public, and I cannot wait to see all of you again in person as soon as it is safe to do so. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday!
