August President's Message
BOMA San Diego is as active as ever with our most recent events and all that is to come in the next few weeks. The Community Service Committee’s Work Party at the Clairemont Boys & Girls Club was a fantastic experience. To anyone who hasn’t participated in one of these events before, I highly recommend considering it in the future. Thank you to everyone that turned up to help give the exterior space a facelift with new landscaping and paint, and to the sponsors that donated materials to make it all happen, and of course to Ben & Jerry’s who kept us motivated with sweet treats in the heat.
Almost 200 BOMA members and colleagues joined us at the Del Mar racetrack last week, making it the highest attended Day at the Races event to date. I always love this event. Seeing the friendships and relationships that have been established across the spectrum of commercial real estate is heartwarming and reminds me of the importance of Associations like BOMA to provide an arena not only for networking but for forging meaningful friendships.
The Back-to-School Backpack Drive concluded with our August luncheon and I am delighted to share that over 500 foster children in San Diego will be sent to school with their very own brand new backpack and school supplies. The Community Service Committee is still counting the number of donations! Thank you to all who contributed and to the committee for your efforts.
Don’t forget: If you are involved in a committee and would like to take your membership a step further, now is the time to submit your application for Board of Directors Membership. Visit here to find out what steps you need to take.
Please come and say hello if you see me at future events; I always love to meet new members and hear about how you came to get involved with BOMA.
