August President's Message
If you missed the BOMA Summer Work Party on July 25th, you missed out! We had a great turn out - our group painted and cleaned and did landscape work at the William J. Oaks Branch of the Boys and Girls Club in San Diego. The Community Service Committee did an impressive job coordinating this event. A special “Thank you” goes out to Brad Stoner from Brad Stoner Painting for directing all us ‘rookies’ – it was a lot of painting both inside and out. Thank you to Kelly Allred and Dunn Edwards for donating the paint. There were many companies that came together to make this event a success, thank you to each one of you! The Summer Work Party is one of the reasons that I love BOMA – it’s a chance to give back to the community while serving shoulder to shoulder with others in our industry. It’s a unique way to get to know your peers and service providers. I recommend you check it out next year!
Emergency Preparedness is gearing up for a CPR class later this year that will be offered free of charge to BOMA members and member companies. If you have never been certified or your certification has expired, this is a great (and free!) opportunity to renew and possibly save someone’s life.
It’s been a busy month for the Special Events Committee with a fantastic golf tournament at the Rancho Bernardo Inn on July 17th, followed closely by the Day at the Races on August 6th. So if you’re wondering how to get involved in BOMA, there are plenty of events to attend, people to meet, and lots of work to be done!
