February was a very full month for BOMA San Diego! The Executive Committee traveled to Washington DC the first week of the month for the BOMA International Winter Business Meeting; the “Get Engaged” Seminar was well attended and each committee got to share the ins and outs of their committee with attendees in a ‘speed dating’ format;  followed by a SOLD OUT membership luncheon with a great panel who spoke about  Development Trends that was moderated by George Chamberlin. Toward the end of the month, most of the Executive Committee traveled to Oakland for the BOMA California meeting for an update on state-wide political issues as well as to share issues that the various local BOMA affiliates are facing. February was capped off with our annual Sundowner networking event at Bang Bang downtown. The Special Events Committee always knocks these events out of the park and this was no exception! Cool venue, interesting and fun people, great food. If you missed it, you missed out!

Do you see a trend here? There are lots of interesting events going on at BOMA San Diego – so whether you want to network, be educated, or get involved in politics that impact your daily job – there is something for everyone!

Be sure to check out the calendar for March – our monthly membership luncheon will be at the San Diego New Central Library – not to be missed! We will be hosting our first BOMI RPA course of the year, Design I, and there will be a New Member Mixer toward the end of the month (those of you that are new to BOMA really should check this event out – it’s a great opportunity to meet the Board and the Membership Committee - these people will help you find your niche within our organization).  The last event of the month is the Fight for Air Climb to benefit the American Lung Association on March 30th, held at One America Plaza again this year. Not only is this event a great way to bond with your fellow BOMA members but also an opportunity to burn a few calories in the process! I can tell you as a previous participant that it won’t kill you - I promise! Unfortunately, I will not be able to be part of the team climbing this year but I have supported financially – which you can also do.  Check out the BOMA team website here! One of our very own BOMA members was the #1 fundraiser for the entire San Diego event last year – congratulations again to Nancy Walther-Meade of Kilroy Realty!

So, I encourage you to get plugged in! I look forward to seeing you at one (or all!) of the fun events scheduled this month.
