President’s Message
Hello BOMA Community!
It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through the year! It takes an incredible community of like-minded leaders to create, sustain and thrive through a challenging year, and I’d like to take an opportunity to recognize some of our recent collaborative joint efforts:
- Our Annual Property Manager Mixer, hosted by the Annual Supporting Partners, was held at The Amalfi Llama in May. It was a great opportunity to connect with managers, and continues to be one of the hallmark benefits of an ASP investment!
- Our latest luncheon covering the expansion of The San Diego International Airport was a hit! Thank you to our Programs Committee: Jessica Kalloch, Tae Kim and the supporting leads: Barry Garson and Joe LoGiudice for all your efforts, as well as to our incredible speaker, Brendan Reed!
- Foundations of Real Estate, led by Liz Howeth, Michelle Scarantino and Daphney Silver, completed their annual four week course! Congratulations to the students who participated and a special thank you to all of our instructors and venue hosts!
- The Annual Summer Work Party, led by Douglas Stirling and Ana Rodriguez, was a great success! The Community Service Committee, with huge help from a very large LandCare team made some amazing strides sprucing up the San Diego Youth Services housing in Point Loma. Special shout out to Madeline Weber with LandCare for the amazing job she did coordinating supplies, shirts and the most infectious energy!
- Our Annual Golf Tournament was a major hit at Rancho Bernardo Inn - thank you to Brooke Wheeler, Tairyn Rasmussen, Brittany Deal, Brett DuPrue, Taylor Heisey, Casey Munoz and Will Smith! The Special Events Committee and all of our sponsors rocked it! Please be sure to check out the event photos here!
It’s already been a whirlwind and we have so much more coming up! Thank you to all of our leaders for continuing to meet, plan and improve the roster of events. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come:
- 6/28-6/30: BOMA International Summer Conference in Boston
- 7/23: Designer Purse Bingo - it’s true. It’s sold out! If you are a property manager and you would like to attend, email me to join the waitlist, and we will try to pair you if there are open seats! We can’t guarantee it, but we’ll do our best to match you up!
- 08/12: August Membership Luncheon on Sustainability featuring MicroHabitats in Action!
- 9/17: Shout House Shenanigans
- 10/8: Joint Expo Hosted By BOMA San Diego, IFMA San Diego, IREM San Diego and the San Diego Building Engineers Association. Registration to open for Exhibitors Late July. Registration to open for Attendees in late August.
