On March 17, BOMA leadership gathered in the new ABM training room in Kearny Mesa to discuss the Strategic Long Range Planning for BOMA San Diego.  Better known as the S.L.R.P. committee, their purpose is “to plan and organize the goals of each committee in the form of a report which functions as a standard operation procedure guide for the committees.”

BOMA Vice President Lynn Hulbert led the discussion with the present Board members and Committee Chairpersons.  This roundtable conversation gave BOMA San Diego leaders the opportunity to exchange ideas and identify ways we could work together to accomplish goals (such as having the Awards & Scholarships and the Education committees work together to increase participation in the upcoming application process for the Jack Moshgat Scholarship) and help each other overcome each committee’s challenges (such as establishing continuity plans for leadership at the committee and at the Board level.)

A few years ago, BOMA President Kristin Howell summed up this interaction between our committees in one simple word– ‘synergy’ – which means “the increased effectiveness that results when two or more people work together.”  Luckily for us, we have a wonderful group of volunteers go above and beyond dedicating their talents and time in a various committees to help BOMA San Diego succeed and stand out in the commercial real estate industry.
