BOMA San Diego’s Community Service Committee organized an in-person volunteer event to help San Diegans in need, at the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, on April 10th. The San Diego Food Bank operates the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County, serving on average 350,000 people per month. The committee arranged for two volunteer shifts and is happy to announce that the morning slots were maxed out with 20 BOMA members, and at least 5 slots were taken up in the afternoon. This 25-person representation is a fantastic turnout, and really shows our commitment to serving those in need.
During the three-hour shifts, volunteers were responsible for bagging produce for individuals to come and pick up from the food bank. Our BOMA group managed to bag over 11,000 pounds of produce per shift for the San Diego Food Bank.
Enjoy some highlights below, with smiling faces, bags of deliciously nutritious foods, and fulfilled hearts of joy from our BOMA Family! We hope to have an even more successful event in 2025, so get your community service pants on!
