BOMA International’s Winter Business Meeting & National Issues Conference was one for the books! As members from all over converged on the capital, BOMA San Diego had a unique opportunity to learn about the latest issues and trends in the CRE industry and meet with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to speak on issues that affect our businesses and industry.
The ability to meet with our elected representatives of Southern California and to encourage them to support the commercial real estate industry was an invaluable experience. From increasing financing for small businesses to be able to make energy efficient investments, to advocating for beneficial workforce development policy, the issues discussed were brought home as members of BOMA SD shared how these bills affect our clients, tenants, and workforce in San Diego.
As times change and our industry faces new challenges each day, it becomes increasingly vital that our members can look to BOMA as the leading association in advocacy, influence, and knowledge for the CRE industry. It was a fantastic Winter Business Meeting in Washington DC with BOMA International.
A special thank you to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA-48), Rep. Mike Levin (D-CA-49), Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA-50), Rep. Juan Vargas (D-CA-52) and their staff for the time made to meet with BOMA San Diego on these important industry issues.
