Every year the Awards, Scholarships & TOBY Committee has the privilege of awarding two of our members an education scholarship – the Jack Moshgat Scholarship, to be exact! For those seeking to further their career and knowledge in the field of commercial real estate (CRE), this scholarship can make a HUGE difference.

Why apply? This scholarship benefits both experienced property management professionals as well as those newer to the industry, by offering three different options to scholarship winners.

The scholarship can be used toward an RPA, FMA or SMA professional designation course sponsored by BOMA San Diego (valued at $1,135). The scholarship may also be used toward the BOMA Foundations of Real Estate Management course (valued at $575) or toward obtaining the Certified Manager of Commercial Properties (CMCP) certification (valued at $675). Who is eligible? All applicants must be members of BOMA San Diego, have at least one year of experience in commercial real estate and be employed or reside in the BOMA San Diego service area.

If you’ve applied before but haven’t won, try joining a committee and contributing in a meaningful way! The Jack Moshgat Scholarship is awarded based on need as well as a demonstrated commitment and desire toward a career in the CRE industry. 

And finally, who is Jack Moshgat? This scholarship is named in honor of Jack Moshgat, a former Navy submarine commander and BOMA San Diego’s 1987 Chapter President. Upon retiring from the military, Jack entered the property management industry and was the original manager of Columbia Center. As an active BOMA member, Jack was a mentor and friend to many!
