The Emerging Professionals Committee partnered with the Emergency Preparedness & Sustainability Committee to execute a successful event at Petco Park. It was both educational and fun as the evening started with an exclusive tour of the park’s process for handling their waste. Here is one key takeaway from the audience regarding the facility tour:
“The Emergency Preparedness & Sustainability committee organized a behind-the-scenes tour of how the day-to-day operations are run at Petco Park. Armando Montes, the Director of Facility Services at Petco Park gave us a special VIP tour to discuss how Petco Park handles their waste and keeps their facilities green. We learned the results of Petco Park's latest waste audit results, and how he works with multiple teams daily to ensure guests and visitors have an amazing experience.” – Nicole Murphy Schuck
Following the tour, members of BOMA San Diego gathered at Petco Park’s Pacifico Porch to casually network while cheering on the Padres and enjoying delicious ballpark food. Ben Arvizu of CAM Property Services had the honor of ringing the Mission Bell at the start of the game! There was even a unique opportunity to win a prize for those who tested their baseball knowledge with BOMA Bingo.
The Emerging Professionals Committee is intent on “providing networking opportunities to professionals that are new to the industry” and this event went above and beyond to accomplish that. I am looking forward to attending the next event hosted by this committee!
