BOMA San Diego presented its 2018 Public Official of the Year Award to a passionate group of civic leaders dedicated to addressing the issues of homelessness in San Diego.

Association President Tom Magnussen and Legislative Advocate Craig Benedetto of California Strategies presented the award to Peter Seidler, Managing Partner of the San Diego Padres ownership group; Dan Shea, partner at Paradigm Investment Group, LLC; Deacon Jim Vargas, President and CEO at Father Joe’s Villages; Bob McElroy, CEO Alpha Project; and Kim Mitchell, CEO of Veterans Village of San Diego.

"There is no question that homelessness was the number one political and public health issue of 2017 and will continue to be going forward," said Tom Magnussen, president of BOMA San Diego. "We applaud these civic leaders for standing up and presenting short-term solutions to help ease the impact on our community and press for long-term solutions to help stem the increasing challenge of homelessness in the City of San Diego.”
