Help BOMA be bigger than itself! In an effort to broaden BOMA’s philanthropic footprint, the Community Service Committee will be hosting the Annual Summer Work Party in July. It’s time to grab your friends, family, and co-workers to join your fellow BOMA members for a day of community improvement.

Last year, the Community Service Committee, industry partners, and volunteers were able to renovate the playground of a North County Pre-School. The school was in desperate need of improvements to help contribute to the safety and educational development of their youth. In just a few hours and with many hands, playground art was drawn, mulch was laid, restrooms were cleaned, benches were built, and an incredible mural was painted.

The Community Service Committee would like to replicate this success in 2015 by giving back to a new organization. In order to determine the best suited facility, BOMA members are being asked to submit suggestions for Summer Work Party locations. To be considered, the following criteria must be met.

  • The organization must own the building/property or have a long term lease.
  • The organization must be a non-profit.
  • The organization must be non-sectarian.
  • There must be enough work for 40-50 people for 4-5 hours
  • The projects requested can be completed by volunteer labor, rather than through monetary fundraising efforts.

If you have an organization and location you’d like the Community Service Committee to consider, please contact our Summer Work Party sub-chair Meaghan O’Brien or Holly Jump.
