Emmes Realty Services has invested more than $325 million in acquiring office high rise assets in Downtown San Diego. The company recently unveiled its $10 million remodeling of the 27-story, Class A building located at 401 West A Street and debuted its new name, 1 Columbia Place. Encompassing an entire city block only minutes from key downtown amenities, 1 Columbia Place is strategically located in the Core Columbia District on the re-emerging west side of downtown.

The “Illuminate” themed grand opening event was held on Wednesday, September 10, with a celebration featuring more than 300 VIP guests. Event highlights included speeches from Emmes' Scott Grady and Andrew Davidoff, Downtown San Diego Partnership President/CEO Kris Michell, Downtown San Diego Partnership Chairman Keith Jones and San Diego City Council President Todd Gloria.

Guests sipped on signature Emmes cocktails and nibbled on culinary delights while mixing and mingling in the newly renovated lobby and outdoor terraces.  A saxophonist accompanied 2 DJS, Adam Salter and Gabe Vega, while a "human disco ball" floated around the event.
