J&M Keystone, Inc., warns residents to avoid San Diego wildfire cleanup scams and to choose help carefully.

J&M Keystone, Inc., has been providing fire restoration services for people and businesses in San Diego for nearly 30 years.  The team has helped its clients deal with problems including fire damage repair, fire site cleanup, smoke deodorization, water extraction and treatment, duct cleaning and replacement and many other tasks and challenges that they have faced.  J&M Keystone would like to send its very best thoughts to the people and businesses in the local community as everyone struggles to recover from the latest San Diego wildfires. The team would also like to warn local residents to be wary of disaster cleanup scams as they desperately try to rebuild their homes and businesses.

Unfortunately, natural disasters such as the recent San Diego wildfires can leave people vulnerable to scams perpetrated by people holding themselves out as fire restoration experts.  Anyone who is approached by a company and offered services that do not seem right for some reason should proceed with extreme caution.  People should avoid situations where they would be required to provide full payment upfront and situations where they are told that they need to hire that company immediately or risk losing out on any type of help.

J&M Keystone is a team of professional fire restoration experts that accepts phone calls 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and can have a representative at a fire site within 60 minutes of an initial conversation.  J&M Keystone offers potential customers a full price list and estimate of its services so that a knowledgeable decision can be made.  The company has completed meticulous training from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification or IICRC.  J&M Keystone’s professionals have also completed training offered by OSHA and the American Red Cross. In addition, the company has earned an ‘A+’ rating from the Better Business Bureau.

According to a report issued by KFMB in San Diego, a link to which can be found here, several San Diego wildfires have burned at least 18,000 acres of land.  Tens of thousands of residents around North San Diego County were ordered to evacuate, and dozens of structures have been lost in the flames. These fires appear to have been the product of a combination of severe drought conditions and high winds generated by Santa Ana conditions that descended on the county earlier this week.  According to an additional report published by KFMB that can be found here, one person has been found dead in these wildfires.

Damage from wildfires can affect buildings in several different ways.  Flames will obviously burn through structures and create a pattern of destruction, but smoke can also inflict a tremendous amount of damage on any building.  In addition, water from fire hoses can leave behind odors and the possibility that mold will form inside of walls and below floorboards in buildings that have been doused in an effort to control the flames.

The San Diego fire restoration experts at J&M Keystone will be able to assist home and business owners immediately. The team of professionals will work with San Diego fire and rescue personnel so that they can enter a property as soon as possible. The team will also work with insurance companies involved in these situations so that claims can be filed promptly and restoration work on any particular structure can begin as soon as possible. Anyone affected by these fires is encouraged to start restoring their properties quickly, but to do so only with fire restoration experts who are willing to provide all information requested to potential customers immediately and who can provide a list of certifications and accomplishments.
